Meet the Residents: Queensland
Meet the Residents is a series to introduce some of the lovely residents from our retirement villages across Australia.
Get to know a boat maker, a musician, a lawn bowler, and an expert organiser below.
Sheila Tickner from The Gardens on Lindfield. Sheila has organised monthly bus trips for residents in the village for years. Her trips are very popular, and she has made a name for herself in the village as the bus organiser. Sheila also organises fashion parades and morning teas, raising funds for cancer research by hosting ‘Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea’ every year.
Rick Mayes from Allora Gardens. Rick is a boatmaker and was in the navy for many years. He has created some amazing navy boats, skooners, sail boats, and motor boats, all working models. Rick puts them into the local regattas from time to time.
Geoff Clark from Hibiscus Chancellor Park. Geoff is a musician who plays in a number of events in the community, notably Buskers By The Lake on the Sunshine Coast. Geoff is a ‘social butterfly’, well-known in the village for his musical talents and is involved in lots of groups and community activities.
Ellen Duller from The Gardens on Lindfield. Ellen has been a keen lawn bowler for many years, and loves to organise, coach, and score bowls in the village.
We are grateful to have such wonderful residents that breathe life into our Lendlease retirement villages. To find out more about our villages or get in contact with your local village, visit: https://www.retirementbylendlease.com.au/.
