Who are Serviced Apartments for? Can you choose the level of care required?
Serviced apartments are suited for anyone who are needing extra support. Residents have all meals provided and a weekly clean of their apartment. Residents can also choose to have laundry and bed making services if required. At Henry Kendall Serviced Apartments, we have a hairdressing salon, lounge room, social area and a hydro therapy pool for exclusive resident use. A GP and podiatrist visit on a weekly basis and some residents have external carers visit to assist with individual needs.
Our team have emergency response attendants (ERAs) who are here 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to support our residents. Each room in the serviced apartments come with an emergency call system, providing a peace of mind that there are always someone nearby to assist.
What does your role entail?
I support residents, their families and staff in the Serviced Apartment team here. Currently we have 59 residents, each with individual needs and I work with my incredibly dedicated team of 12 to ensure the residents are supported and happy. I also work closely with the families. It is vitally important that the families trust that their loved ones are cared for and supported in the best way possible and we do everything to make sure this is the case.
What is the best part about your job?
Our wonderfully diverse residents. Each resident has a story and it really is a privilege to be part of their lives. I love having a chat or a laugh with them and learn more and more about their incredible adventures.
I also work with an absolutely fantastic team who make me excited to go into work every morning. Many of them have worked here for over 15 years - that really says something about this place!
