Bob Chanter, an all-round "good bloke!"

Winner of the 2018 Good Sports "All Values" Award – Humanity, Equality, Destiny, Camaraderie

We recently conducted a search to discover ‘Good Sports’ living within our Lendlease Retirement Living villages and resorts. We received hundreds of stories from residents nominating other residents. We were overwhelmed by the wonderful stories of selflessness, kindness, camaraderie and community.

Nominated an impressive 89 times by his fellow residents, there is no doubt that Bob Chanter is an all-round “good bloke” who easily ticks all categories in the ‘good sport’ awards.

One of the first residents in Martha’s Point, Bob has served as Resident Advisory Committee member, village bus driver and is currently the very active Secretary of the Social Activities Committee.

Bob (along with his lovely wife Robin) have been the backbone of the village’s social life for over 10 years.

Bob organises the social calendar, runs the Dine Inns, Christmas in July and the annual Christmas dinners- always with a welcoming smile.

Along with his boundless enthusiasm, passion for bowling and square dancing, Bob also brings with him a lifetime of community service as a teacher and CFA stalwart. He is a long time volunteer at the Monbulk Fire Brigade, a Police Register Volunteer and First Aid Volunteer.

A shining example to others, Bob has personally inspired so many residents to make the village a warm and enjoyable place to live. He is a great asset to Martha’s Point.
