If you’re looking for a way to enjoy the sunshine, stunning views of Brisbane river and calming breezes, look no further than the Lores Bonney Riverwalk!

Named after Maude “Lores” Bonney, Australia’s “Lady of the Sky” who made aviation history throughout the 1930s with the longest one-day flight by an airwoman, the Riverwalk is part of Brisbane’s world-class active transport initiative and has already been used by almost 800,000 pedestrians and cyclists since opening in 2018.

Developed as part of the Kingsford Smith Drive upgrade completed in 2020, the 1.2 kilometre boardwalk winds along the Brisbane River from Bretts Wharf in the east to Cameron Rocks Reserve in the west. With a two-metre wide riverside pedestrian path and separate cycle lanes, there’s plenty of room for you and your walking buddy to comfortably enjoy the city views together!

The Riverwalk is a safe and convenient way to get between some of Brisbane’s most beautiful destinations including the Hamilton War Memorial, Bretts Wharf ferry terminal, Portside’s popular dining and retail precinct and more!

This weekend, why not throw on your joggers and go for a morning stroll along the walk. With plenty of picturesque riverside green spaces along the way and 130,000 new plants and trees lining the new Kingsford Smith Drive, it’s easy to enjoy a lovely day out while hitting your daily step goals!
