Latest Construction Update

Luckily construction progress has not been heavily affected by the lockdowns faced by Victorians since commencement and below is a description of the current status.

Excavation of our two basement levels is progressing well despite encountering some areas of the site whereby the density of the naturally occurring basalt is harder than anticipated and requires rock breaking with a hydraulic rock hammer. These bulk excavation works are now over 90% complete.

Piling works are now complete, with works on the capping beams also nearing completion. The capping beams are steel and concrete beams that tie in the piling to create the foundation of the building. Shotcrete works are also well underway. Shotcrete is a method of applying concrete using a hose that pneumatically projects the concrete at a high velocity onto a surface.

Approximately 20% of pad footings are complete and the hydraulics contractor has commenced detailed excavation for the inground services to be installed.

Ground works will be continuing throughout September, with the first concrete slab on ground due to be poured mid this month.
