With a wealth of experience, skills and knowledge, our Executive Management Team provides the strategic direction and focused drive for Lendlease's Retirement Living business.

Nathan Cockerill
Managing Director

Nathan has worked at Lendlease for six years in the Retirement Living business and has more than 25 years’ experience in Financial and Operational roles. Prior to being appointed Managing Director, he was the Executive General Manager Finance, Retirement Living where he oversaw the Finance Operations across the portfolio of 73 Retirement Villages nationally, as well as the development pipeline.

Nathan has a deep knowledge and expertise of the Retirement sector and understands the key performance drivers of the business. He thrives on the positive energy Lendlease inspires in its residents and is committed to building a team of professionals whose priority is the customer. A keen St Kilda footy fan, he enjoys running to clear his mind and can be found on weekends spending quality time with his wife and kids.

Wai See Chung
Head of Legal, Retirement Living and Company Secretary

Wai See has worked in retirement living for 14 years, and has over 20 years experience and expertise in the areas of corporate and commercial law, banking and finance, elder law, property, media and entertainment and intellectual property. Prior to joining Lendlease she practised overseas as Head Counsel of a substantial broadcasting company and in a top-tier legal firm.

Jason Fitzgerald
Head of Development

Jason leads our Development Team nationally in origination, conversion and delivery. Jason has more than 20 years’ experience at Lendlease across the full range of property development including Communities, Urban Regeneration, Retail and Retirement Living.

Jason has a background in Finance and prior to taking on the role of Head of Development was the General Manager of Finance for the Retirement Living Development business for the last 4 years. Immediately prior to moving to Retirement Living Jason was the Executive General Manager of Finance overseeing all commercial and financial decisions foe the Barangaroo development in Sydney.

Jason holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree and is a qualified CPA.

Kara Freedman
Head of Environmental Health & Safety

A typical day in Kara’s role sees her challenging the status quo, always looking for safer ways to operate and prevent accidents and injuries. As a registered nurse with over 20 years’ experience in the health and wellness space in a variety of industries, Kara is passionate about inspiring people to understand the importance of safety in the workplace. She describes the Retirement Living business as a breath of fresh air, thanks to the genuinely caring people she works with and the way in which the residents are made to feel so valued. Her interest in the arts means when she’s not promoting health and safety at work, she can be found at the theatre, visiting galleries, exploring new restaurants or planning her next overseas adventure.

Paul Martin
Executive General Manager Finance

Paul has worked for Lendlease for over 19 years, with responsibility for the financial management and leadership of a range of Lendlease’s projects and business, including direct experience in Australia and the UK across residential, commercial and retail development, construction and infrastructure development. Recent roles included Executive General Manger, Finance (EGMF) Residential and Urban Regeneration; General Manager Finance for Apartments & Commercial and Head of Financial Planning & Analysis, Property Australia. In January 2021, Paul became the Executive General Manager, Finance for Lendlease’s Retirement Living business. Paul is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws.

Darren Scott
Lendlease Property
Head of Property Refurbishment & Upgrades

Darren has worked for Lendlease for 17 years, with over 30 years of experience in the property industry and holds a First Class (Hons) Degree in Engineering. He originally started with Lendlease in the UK business working on PPP Healthcare projects, before migrating to Australia with his family
During his time with Lendlease Darren has worked across several business units to include Construction, Facilities Management, Investment Management and Retirement Living.

Since joining Retirement Living Darren has worked on a number of exciting projects to include Contract Standardisation, involvement in several village acquisitions to include Trebartha, Ardency Baytree and Ardency Aroona, as well as a number of significant redevelopment and refurbishment projects across the portfolio.

Sarah Van Dyke
People and Culture Manager

With more than 20 years of experience in Human Resources, Sarah Vandyke has an innate understanding of people and what drives them. She joined Lendlease in 2010, beginning as a Senior HR Advisor then Strategic Business Partner, before taking on her current role as People and Culture Manager, Property for Lendlease Retirement Living in 2019. She has a Bachelor of Business from RMIT and has worked in a diverse range of industries from Manufacturing, Retail and FMCG to Insurance, Investment Banking and Recruitment, in both Melbourne and London.

As well as being an HR expert, Sarah is also a mother to Xavier and Eliza. On weekends, she can be found with her family on her 40 acre hobby farm in Heathcote, tending to the sheep and chooks.

Tamara Rasmussen
Head of Resident Operations, Retirement Living

Tamara has worked in Lendlease’s Communities business for the past 15 years. With over 20 years of experience in the property industry, her wealth of knowledge encompasses everything from community engagement and sales to operations and development management. Prior to her current role, Tamara was Regional Development Manager NSW/ACT, responsible for the master-planned communities of Calderwood Valley and Bingara Gorge.

A 2019 recipient of the National UDIA Women in Leadership Award for her contribution to the development industry, Tamara’s passion, vision and commitment to putting Lendlease’s customers first is at the heart of everything she does.

Sarah Hodgkins
General Manager Marketing,
Retirement Living

Sarah is an award-winning Marketing Management professional with 20 years’ experience in the dynamic retail and property industry. Qualified with a BA (HONS) Degree in Marketing Sarah started her career with Lendlease 16 years ago.

Having spent the past 8 years in Retirement Living, she says it’s her passion, “I love my job because everything we do is driven by the needs of the customer. Our success depends on their satisfaction. We are in the business of inspiring our residents to feel safe, supported and happy. This is always at the forefront of our decision making and makes the work we do very rewarding.”

Sarah enjoys spending her weekends with her family, both of her boys are keen football (soccer!) players and loves the adventures the game takes them on. Sarah has recently taken up trail running and completed the 48km Gold Coast Kokoda Challenge, raising money for the Kokoda Youth Foundation.

Wendy Parsons
Head of Operational Excellence

Wendy has worked at Lendlease for more than 20 years in senior roles within both Finance and Operations, including National Operations Manager for the Retirement Living Development business until appointment into Wendy’s current role as Head of Operational Excellence. Prior to moving into Operations, Wendy held a variety of Finance positions both within Retirement Living and Lendlease Corporation.

Wendy has a passion for, and commitment to this role and her Team’s success, taking a very active part, Wendy is integral to the continued evolution, implementation and excellent standard of the Lendlease governance framework.

When not supporting Excellence in the Retirement Living business, Wendy enjoys being with her family. She has a Bachelor of Business degree and is a member of the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants.

Michael Dockery
Head of Sales

Michael joined our Retirement Living business as Head of Marketing in 2018 following ten years of Marketing leadership experience across Lendlease.

Michael had previously led the Marketing function for the Lendlease Retail business, Group Corporate Affairs, Residential and Barangaroo, and helped to establish the first Marketing Operations shared services model for the Australian business.

Following his stint at State Sales Manager (NSW/ACT) in 2020, he moved into the Head of Sales role for the business in April 2021.

Michael has championed numerous business wide initiatives, and currently leads out RAP commitment with the Gawura Indigenous school in Sydney. Prior to joining Lendlease, Michael held senior roles in Retail (Westfield, Chemist Works) and Financial Services (Wizard Home Loans).

Michael holds a Bachelor of Communications (Macquarie University) and Master of Business (Monash University).
